Location: Foyles, Charing Cross Road

This event is in the past.

Join us for the Eleanor Farjeon Award and Patrick Hardy Lecture on 29th November 2017 at Foyles, Charing Cross Road.

The Eleanor Farjeon Award will be celebrating libraries, librarians and the integral role they play in the Children's Book industry.

We are proud to announce that our speaker for the Patrick Hardy Lecture 2017 will be the award-winning Children's author, Elizabeth Laird. Elizabeth is the author of Welcome to Nowhere, as well as Red Sky in the Morning and The Garbage King - plus many more!

Elizabeth's books are full of strength, oral tradition and survival. She has travelled widely, living and working in Africa and the Middle East, and most recently visiting Jordanian refugee camps and working with a charity to set up schools in the area. Elizabeth will share with us parts of her daily 'author travels' diary packed with humour and jeopardy. It's sure to be an poignant and impactful lecture!

We look forward to seeing you there!
